ANNOUNCEMENT: THE ZAMBIAN OPEN UNIVERSITY (ZAOU) IS FULLY OPERATIONAL AND NOT CLOSED

ZAMBIAN OPEN UNIVERSITY

OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR

ANNOUNCEMENT: THE ZAMBIAN OPEN UNIVERSITY (ZAOU) IS FULLY OPERATIONAL AND NOT CLOSED

This is to inform current and prospective students of the Zambian Open University (ZAOU), and the public, that the academic programmes and activities of the University, for the 2021 academic year, are currently running.  We are still enrolling for the July/August Intake.

ZAOU is NOT closed but merely observing the holidays that have been declared by the Government to allow all eligible Zambian citizens to vote in the general elections.

Undergraduate distance learning students have just completed their online residential school classes (on 6th August, 2021) and are now learning through the Moodle Learning Management System. Online residential school classes for postgraduate students, which started on Monday, 9th August, 2021 are ongoing. Some of them have been rescheduled in order to allow both students and lecturers to vote.

The closure of the Universities announced by the Government, sometime back, does not affect the running of our programmes because ZAOU’s teaching and learning system is based on the information and communication technology (ICT), the Moodle Learning Management System, which does not require physical or in – person gathering of students for lectures.

For any point of clarification please phone 0977 52 43 44,   0979 69 55 53 or 0979 75 22 72 or email admissions@zaou.ac.zm or ICTsupport@zaou.ac.zm
