The School of Agricultural Sciences was established in 2010 and is currently offering seven (7) four-year undergraduate degree programmes and will be launching three (3) post-graduate programmes and an additional under undergraduate programme in Food Security and Nutrition. Our undergraduate degree programs in agricultural sciences offer a dynamic blend of current theory, cutting-edge research, experiential learning opportunities and industry partnerships. Whether you are passionate about sustainable livestock farming, plant/crop production, agribusiness management and/or agricultural economics, our programs provide the knowledge and skills you need to thrive in this vital and ever-evolving industry.

SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT PLAN
The School will be launching newly developed Post and undergraduate programmes:
- Postgraduate programmes in: Agricultural Economics/Agribusiness Management, Animal Breeding and Genetics and Plant Science
- Bachelor of Science degree in Food Security and Nutrition (to be offered in conjunction with the School of Education).
The major goal of the School of Agricultural Sciences is to prepare its graduates to meet the challenges faced in the Agricultural Sector.
The main aim is to contribute to the realizing of the full potential of Agriculture in Zambia. Graduates of the School are in high demand from both public and private Institutions which includes: Government ministries, international organizations, Research and Developments, NGOs, CBOs etc.
AIMS OF THE UNDERGRADUATE (BSc) PROGRAMMES IN THE SCHOOL OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES
The major goal of the School of Agricultural Sciences is to prepare its graduates to meet the challenges faced in the Agricultural and other related Sectors.
The main aim is to contribute to the realizing of the full potential of Agriculture in Zambia. Graduates of the School are in high demand from both public and private Institutions which includes: Government ministries, Private international organizations, Research and Developments, NGOs, CBOs etc.
Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Management (BSc. ABM)
The aim of the programme is to give a comprehensive agribusiness management training so that graduates of the programme can agribusiness management knowledge and approach to contribute to the alleviation of poverty and therefore to the development of the country and the region as a whole.
Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics (BSc. ECON)
The aim of the programme is to give a comprehensive agricultural economics training so that graduates of the programme can use of agricultural economics knowledge and approach to contribute to the alleviation of poverty and therefore to the development of the country and the region as a whole.
Bachelor of Science in Horticulture (BSc. HRT)
The aim of the programme is to give a comprehensive Horticultural training so that graduates of the programme can use of Horticultural knowledge and approach to contribute to the alleviation of poverty and therefore to the development of the country and the region as a whole.
Bachelor of Science in Animal Science (BSc. ANS)
The aim of the programme is to give a comprehensive Horticultural training so that graduates of the programme can use of Animal Science knowledge and approach to contribute to the alleviation of poverty and therefore to the development of the country and the region as a whole.
Bachelor of Science in Plant Science (BSc. PSC)
The aim of the programme is to give a comprehensive Plant Science training so that graduates of the programme can use of Plant Sciences knowledge and approach to contribute to the alleviation of poverty and therefore to the development of the country and the region as a whole.
Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Sciences with Agricultural Education (BSc. AGSE)
The aim of the programme is to give a comprehensive Agricultural Science with education training so that graduates of the programme can use of agricultural Science with education knowledge and approach to contribute to the alleviation of poverty and therefore to the development of the country and the region as a whole.
Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with Agricultural Extension (BSc. AEX)
The aim of the programme is to give a comprehensive Agricultural Science with education training so that graduates of the programme can use of agricultural Science with Agricultural Extension knowledge and approach to contribute to the alleviation of poverty and therefore to the development of the country and the region as a whole
